Fire Extinguisher Hydrostatic Testing

Hydrostatic testing verifies the structural integrity of fire extinguisher cylinders under pressure. Required by NFPA 10 at specific intervals for every extinguisher type.

What Is Hydrostatic Testing

The extinguisher is emptied, valve removed, cylinder filled with water, and pressurized to test pressure. Held at pressure and monitored for leaks or distortion. Pass = marked with test date. Fail = condemned and replaced.
